Here’s a video of me playing with Memoryhouse this past summer when I was still their bassist. I really liked playing this song and it makes me nostalgic about playing music in a group. It’s also reminds me of the creative inevitability of expanding Foxes in Fiction’s live show to a multi-member format, which will be something of a top priority in 2012. I feel like for the kind of music I want to play, I’ve pretty much exhausted all my resources at a solo performer. There’s only so many ways one can improve upon oneself when on stage with looping pedals and samplers, and after a while it becomes fairly boring for the performer; knowing how every show is going to pan out every single night is an increasingly difficult things to reconcile. That being said, finding a compatible group of musicians to bring ideas to life that I hatched my bedroom is going to be a drag.
